Last ride of 2008

This is uncharacteristic of December weather, which makes it just a little scary.
I really didn't want to see above 70 until April sometime.

And since we opted to run/walk in the early morning hours we didn't get out to the Saguaro National Monument until all the out-of-towners did, so it made for some congestion on the paved loop.

Tired of braking behind vans with Indiana plates, who think it's OK to stop in the middle of a ROAD to take pictures of a cactus, we opted to go off road on our second loop.

We should have done a couple loops of THIS as we saw NO ONE hiking or biking on this great trail.

It's perfect weather, about 72 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, a slight breeze ruffling the jojoba bushes, some puddles from recent rains in washes -well it can't get much better than this!

And Happy 2009 to all!

If all those people got out of their vehicles your great trails would be much more crowded.

Happy New Year to you!
